The Empty Seat: Sunday, May 18th

I slept for most of the 9 1/2 hour flight and we got to Miami a little ahead of schedule. I went through the Global Entry kiosks and the lines, and Fred and I zoomed past everyone else and got through everything: passport control, customs, bag pick up, bag drop off in about a half an hour. Yay! We got to the gate around 6 and settled in to wait until our plane boards around 8 so we have a couple of hours to wait.

Some folks got caught up on the news... and some folks got caught up on the sleep that they didn't get on the plane. I started uploading my pictures to our group Dropbox so we can get all the pictures from the trip in one place.

We loaded onto our flight around 8 am and I spent the flight working on the final boss battle in Zelda and making further in Super Mario Bros. than I've ever gotten...

I started feeling a little queasy towards the end of the flight, so I was glad when we landed a little before 11 am in DC. Not enough fresh air during the long travel days. I was feeling better by the time we picked up our luggage. Katie met me outside the baggage claim (perfect timing) and we got on the way back home.

Darcy was really happy to see me, and I was happy to see him and that he was in good spirits. I unpacked my bags and started the clothes going in the washing machine. It's been a long trip and I had a great time, but it's good to be home again!
