Day One: We Found Our PEOPLE!

After settling our bags in at No. 11 we decided to walk down the street and hop on the Edinburgh tours bus. HOWEVER, along the way we found evidence that our people are still here! (Photo evidence below).

I mean, it’s a port-o-potty…but Nixon! After rediscovering our heritage we discovered the bus we were looking for after discovering a lot of road work en route. We took the bus down to the Prince Street Garden to look at the flowers and get a great view of Edinburgh Castle on the hill.

We started walking from the garden back towards the Royal Mile and ended up at Waverley Station. We headed inside because the wind was getting us a bit chilly and found us a Gregg’s sausage roll!

Dad and I both approve. It was warm and hit the spot.

We headed back out and up to the Royal Mile to see what sort of shops we could find and found a “short cut”. Dad was a bit nervous...

We headed back down the Mile and caught the bus again and finished the loop, ending up at our hotel for a brief rest and reset. After taking a look at the truly insane number of restaurants in Edinburgh we decided to find a solid Fish and Chips shop a few blocks away for dinner.

Definitely not something I can eat twice in a week!

We trekked on back to the hotel to turn in for the night after this EPIC travel day.
